A health coach mentors clients to create and maintain long term lifestyle changes to enhance their overall wellness and the client usually initiates the relationship after making a decision to make some type of life change. In contrast, a visit to a nutritionist is often initiated by a doctor’s recommendation or prescription in response to a specific dietary or health issue. Unlike a qualified nutritionist or dietician, the health coach/client relationship is not diagnostic but emphasizes an ongoing coaching plan to meet the client’s specific goals. In the health coach/client relationship dietary nutrition is usually the secondary focus and addresses non-food forms of nourishment which may include career, spirituality, physical activity, relationships and other lifestyle factors, in addition to dietary habits. Nutritionists and dieticians typically focus solely on dietary nutrition and will make specific recommendations using food components such as calories and macro and micro-nutrients. A health coach does not diagnose or treat illness but assesses overall well being while allowing clients to drive the conversation and determine the areas of desired focus.
I don’t currently offer coaching online outside of the Cayman Islands. However, I am working on capability to offer this and will keep you posted!
Absolutely. I am happy to discuss a reasonable payment plan directly with you.
Coaching is not for everyone. However, if you are committed and willing to invest in yourself and to really make some changes to your habits and behaviours, coaching can be the missing piece in the puzzle in terms of completely transforming your life and your wellbeing.
We are all complex beings and I find my legal job just as personally rewarding and gratifying as health coaching, albeit in different ways. In addition, I believe that continuing to work in the corporate world means that I am experiencing the high pressure life that many of my clients live with and can therefore offer my coaching from a place of true understanding and authenticity.
I am not a medical practitioner and cannot and will not provide medical advice of any kind. If you have a medical condition, whether physical or mental, I will always suggest that you seek the appropriate medical advice or care.
No, I am not a nutritionist or a registered dietician. I am a certified integrative nutrition health coach.
